Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (together with any applicable The Garage Leisure Complex Rules and Privacy Policy) set out the terms on which you agree to take part in any of the activities at The Garage Karting (the “Conditions”) Please read the Conditions carefully before participating in any of the Activities. By taking part in the Activities you confirm that you accept the Conditions and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Conditions, you/your child must not take part in any Activities at the venue.

The Garage Karting

The Activities are provided by Grange Street Leisure (Kilmarnock) LTD, trading as The Garage Leisure Complex which is a limited company incorporated in Scotland under Company No: 524031 and whose registered office address is at 36-40 Grange Street, Kilmarnock, KA1 2DD
The Garage Leisure Complex reserves the right to limit the availability of and/or change any of its Activities at any time.
The Garage Leisure Complex will not be held responsible for the loss or damage to any of your personal belongings during your visit to the premises.
If you or any member of your group causes any damage to any of the Karting’s facilities, fixtures or fittings then you will be liable for the costs of repairing such damage. The cost of any such repairs will be charged to the person responsible for the booking.
The Garage Leisure Complex staff are not responsible for supervising you or your children at any time, regardless of the child’s age.

Bookings

Bookings will only be considered final when full payment has been made and an official receipt or e-mail confirmation has been issued by The Garage Leisure Complex. It is your responsibility to check the accuracy of your booking confirmation and report any mistake to The Garage Leisure Complex within 24 hours of receiving the confirmation. The Garage Leisure Complex shall use its reasonable endeavours to ensure that your booking commences at the time slot allocated, however, it is your responsibility to ensure that you and the members of your group arrive on time. It is recommended that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your allocated time slot to allow to comply with all registration formalities.
The Garage Leisure Complex is not under any obligation to offer any refunds for pre-purchased bowling time. If you have pre-purchased bowling time, you may not exchange your allocated time slot for another, unless permitted in writing by a manager of The Garage Leisure Complex.
Bookings are only valid only for the date and time shown, and are void if tampered with. The tickets remain the property of The Garage Leisure Complex and are strictly non-transferable.
The Garage Leisure Complex honour any bookings where full payment has already been made.
The Garage Leisure Complex shall be entitled to cancel your booking at any time. In the event that The Garage Leisure Complex cancels your booking, it shall use all reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as possible. In the event of a cancellation by The Garage Leisure Complex, you shall be entitled to a full refund or the option to reschedule, but no other compensation shall be payable.
For birthday party bookings, please refer to the party terms and conditions available on request.
Nothing in these Conditions shall limit or exclude The Garage Leisure Complex liability for: death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its employees or agents; or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Personal Data

The Garage Leisure Complex will process any information that we collect from you in accordance with our Privacy Policy which is available on request or from our website.

Governing Law

These Conditions and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the law of Scotland.
The courts of Scotland shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Conditions or its subject matter or formation.
Nothing in these Conditions shall limit or exclude The Garage Leisure Complex liability for: death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its employees or agents; or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Customer requirements

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for Karting. No high heels and/or open toe shoes.

Anyone under 18 yrs old must have a parent/guardian with them to sign their waiver on site or have their parent/guardian sign the online waiver

First time customers can register online prior to Check-In Time. 

If you booked race(s) with some racers age 12+ and some under 12, all racers will race in Junior Karts
Customer must confirm that they will not participate in any activity unless they have first attended the briefing where they will be advised and thoroughly informed of the inherent risk in taking part in all related activities, including but not limited to the fact that Karting and related activities can cause injuries to the customer, collisions, overturning, unpredictable acts and omissions by others.
The customer confirms that they are in good physical and mental health, my eyesight (as corrected appropriate) is up to the standard required and they are not suffering from any other medical condition or disability which might make it unsafe for themselves and others and / or are not aware of any impairment of their child or charge’s condition.
The customer confirms they do not suffer from Epilepsy, Fits, Recurrent blackouts, fainting spells or giddiness, any form of psychiatric or mental illness, and / or not aware of any such impairment of my child or charge’s condition.
The customer confirms that they do not suffer from any pre-existing condition, such as but not limited to: back, neck or spinal complaint, dislocation, weakness or injury involving breaking of any limb, diabetes, lung or heart disease or severe head injury which may lead to concussion or unconsciousness, which might make it unsafe for the customer to drive and / or aware of any such impairment of my child or charge’s condition.
The customer confirms they are not participating against medical advice and that have not been diagnosed as having a terminal illness.
The customer declares that in the event of feeling physically or mentally unwell or suffering an injury of any description during the course of Karting activities, they will notify the proprietor of the premises where the activity is taking place or his authorised representative immediately and will thereafter immediately discontinue any Karting activity.
The customer must not have consumed any alcohol / drugs 12 hours prior to the commencement of their activity. The customer must not be in possession of any alcohol / drugs.
The customer will be expected to sign a disclaimer confirming they understand that the terms of this document.
The customer confirms that they understand that karting and its related activities are not without risk and that accordingly they undertake to accept responsibility to look after their self and those around them in a careful and thoughtful manner at all times when on the premises.

PLEASE HELP US TO HELP YOU HAVE AN ENJOYABLE KARTING EXPERIENCE BY:-

  1. Obeying all instructions that you receive immediately;
  2. Looking after yourself at all times; and
  3. Acting in a careful and considerate way to everyone else on the premises.

 

Track Rules

Be aware Go-Karting is a motorsport and can be dangerous. The safety briefing & Marshalls instructions must be listened & adhered to at all times.
You are responsible for your own safety and others on the track.
Drivers with any medical conditions, taking medication or feeling tired must inform a marshall immediately.
Prior to entering the Go-Kart Track; all loose clothing and jewellery must removed. All long hair must be tied up securely and not hanging out of helmet or overalls. Hair protectors will be made available and must be used for drivers with hair shoulder length or longer. Please ask a marshall for a hair net to ensure your hair doesn’t get caught in machinery
At no time get out of the kart onto track. Keep arms and legs in kart at all times.
Observe signs and signals used by marshalls. These include “STOP”, “SLOW DOWN”, “NO BUMPING”,”FINAL WARNING”, “LAST LAP” & “INTO PIT”.  All of which are self explanatory and if you fail to follow these you may be removed from the track without reimbursement.
Light system control, you must stop when red light is shown. If you continue driving after red lights shown you may be removed from the track without reimbursement.
There are flashing Amber lights on the track. When these flash this means half speed karting and no overtaking. These will be on for your first lap so take your first lap at half pace.
Each kart is fitted with a Kart kill system and may be used to slow down or stop any kart on the track for driver discipline and safety.
Drive very slowly into pit and remain in kart until all karts have stopped and engines are switched off.
Keep visor down when driving. Do not loosen helmet straps after fitting check. In the unlikely case your helmet hasn’t been checked by a marshall please request for this to be checked prior to entering the track.
A brake test will be carried out when you leave the pit, please press the brakes when the Marshall instructs you.
Please study fire escape routes on track drawing on wall which indicate fire exits in case of a Fire.
Driver must empty pockets of phones / wallet / keys / money etc; these items will likely end up on the track and get damaged, possibly lost. Make sure all valuables are stored in a locker. The Garage takes no responsibility for any items left unsecured.
Driver must have both hands on the steering wheel at all times.
We have a zero tolerance approach for drivers who have consumed alcohol or other substances. Please advise a marshall if you have consumed any alcohol as you will not be allowed to drive. Random breathalyser tests will be carried out.
If you drive without due care and fail to abide with the above rules or the NKA rules then you will be removed from the track with no refund.
Despite The Garage Karting taking all reasonable precautions, unavoidable accidents can happen. In respect of these, you are present at your own risk.
